Record group 78-102 consists of files relating to parks, from the Parks Division of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for the years 1935-1965. Consists of a compilation of Michigan legislation relating to parks and recreation; forms on which are tabulated figures showing the use of state outdoor centers by number of permits, cancellations, camper days, type of groups, and revenue; feasibility studies for a number of park sites, including sites in Valley Township (includes a land/ownership map and ten photographs), Benzie County (field survey), Leelanau County (field survey), Fisherman Island (Norwood Township area, includes four maps and five aerial photographs), and the Battle Creek War Memorial Recreational Area; and special forms offering summary data on use of Michigan parks by people in tents, trailers, cars, organizations, and boats according to state of origin or residence.
